Cycle Steps |
1. We started close to the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway Station and began to follow the canal westwards. After a mile or two we disappointedly had to cross the canal as riding wasn't permitted and ride on quiet roads until we stopped for lunch at a pub in Hamstreet. The last couple of miles before Hamstreet was on a busy road (sorry). After lunch we headed back towards Hythe intending to try once again to follow the Royal Military Canal but length section had locked gates which we 'got around'. It's a great shame the footpath alongside this canal is not properly surfaced to allow cyclists to use it. |

Landmarks/Sites to see? |
With the exception of the hectic A2070, this ride is mostly on quiet roads and the canal's towpath. The absence of traffic is a joy.
