1. This is an 80% off road route, that is not too taxing, and uses some nice single tracks.
Set off from the Podger Pub carpark in Ninelands Lane, Gosforth, towards the A642. Turn right and then left into Ash Lane. When you get to the bottom of Ash Lane, keep going and you'll see the track that leads to Aberford. Look out for dirt jumps on left near the start of this track.
From Aberford there is an uphill road section to Lotherton Hall.
Go through the gates to Lotherton Hall and keep going straight on when the road bends left to the car park. Look out for the deer in the field to the left.
Keep following the route I've plotted. Its tricky to see the tracks from the map as they're under the cover of the trees. But there are some great single track trails to cover here.
Once you go through a tunnel after a down hill, you will enter some woods. There is a sharp right (south) into the trees. This will take you round the loop so that you head for Highfield Lane first.
There's a nice down hill stretch on Highfield Lane, near the quarry.
After crossing the trail track, take a right down the road. When you get to a house, go straight on into the fields. There is a sign for walkers.
When you go back through the tunnel, there is a sharp right. This section is great single track and a nice down hill at the end.
As you pull back up the hill, parallel to the A1 road, turn left over the motorway bridge and head into Micklefield
Theres some tracks and road to lead you back via Garforth East train station to the Podger for a well earned pint.
