Cycle Steps
1. This Yorkshire Dales route keeps to A & B roads and lanes through rolling fields and country villages. Park the car in Bolton Abbey carpark. Go left on the B6160 and onto the lane up past the Abbey, cycling anticlockwise over the river to follow its meandering course up the dales to Barden. See Barden Tower & have a meal at The Priest House restaurant. Cut back onto B6160 and head down past the Abbey turing right onto Green Lane and follow the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway route to Embsay and on into Skipton on the A6131. Pass through Skipton, staying on Skipton Road through Low Bradley, Kildwick and into Silsden. Take the A6034 Bolton Road to the outskirts of Silsden, then fork right onto Brown Bank Lane, past the caravan park & onto Cocking Lane into Addingham. Jump back onto the B6160 Bolton Road out of Addingham passing over the A59 roundabout, through Bolton Bridge and back to the car at Bolton Abbey carpark. Wander round the Priory ruins, visit Hesketh Farm Park and finish with tea at the Abbey Tea Rooms. What a good day!
