1. Off road route. Petersfield to Stoughton and back via the Royal Oak at Hooksway for lunch! Uses part of the South Downs Way after Buriton. Mostly bridleways and forest trails. As with most rides on the chalk of the South Downs, best avoided when wet! No great technical difficulty though a fair degree of off road experience is needed. Some of the climbs are loose and awkward. It's a long way back if you break anything so be self-contained; and no, that does not mean taking just a mobile phone. | |
