1. This is a scenic road route, mainly on country lanes. Leave Cranleigh, the largest village in Surrey, heading west on the B2130. Subsequently turn off SW to go through Dunsfold. The route continues along minor country lanes, too many to list so use this route map at larger scales, until you cross over the A283, from Shillinglee Rd towards Gospel Green. Here go left and head south on Jobson's Lane. This is a long and very scenic road, passing through the hamlets of Lickfold and Lodsworth (nice pubs for refreshments) to eventually meet the A272. Go left and then right, which takes over the River Rother and along more country lanes. Continue through the hamlet of South Ambersham and follow the signs to Midhurst. On this last stretch you pass Cowdray Park, famous for it's beautiful mansion house, and of course the polo grounds frequented by the Royals! |
