1. This is a mixed route, of A roads and cycle tracks, that has some climbs and drops and a speed section.
The initial part of the route to Ballinluig is on the cycle track, which has some rough parts, but no real hills. You then follow the A827 to Aberfeldy, which makes a nice stop before you tackle the long hill up parts of the Birks o'Aberfeldy. Take it steady, as the climb is long, but the views are worth it!, as is the long downhill run into the next valley. Join the Dunkeld-Crieff road, A822, and enjoy some speed to Dunkeld. The old A9 out of Dunkeld is a bit of a climb, but far safer than the new-A9. Just be aware of the lorries that use the old road. |
