Cycle Steps
1. This is a road route, mainly on country roads, but with sections of A and B roads, that has a few climbs and descents. Head out of Louth on the Legbourne Road, B1200. Join up with the A157, towards Legbourne, and at a sharp left hand bend, turn off to the right, sign posted Little Cawthorpe. There are few climbs on this section. Keep on the road going through the small villages of Muckton and Belleau. At the T-junction turn right, towards South Thoresby, pass the chalk pit on your left and take the next left. Keep on this road, through Rigsby, and at the next junction and go left onto the A1104. Go down the hill into Alford. Pass through Alford on the A1104 and go left at the fork onto the A1104. Stay on this through Saleby and take a left onto the B1373 to Woodthorpe. Follow the B1373 through Woodthorpe and up to Withern. At Withern you come onto the A157 and head up the hill towards Reston. At the top of the hill, turn right off the A157, and head for Great Carlton. at Great Carlton turn left for Little Carlton. Follow the road through Little Carlton and Manby, and go over the B1200 crossroads. Continue on through Grimoldby and follow the road through South Cockerington and a series of sharp bends. Bear left for North Cockerington and follow the road towards Alvingham. Do not turn into the village, but follow the road towards Keddington village and back into Louth.
