1. This is an undulating road route, mainly on B and country roads, but with short sections of A road especially on the run into Eastbourne.
I started by taking a train out of London to West Wickham Station. From here I went south on the A214, crossed the A232 and went through West Wickham into the country side and through green E.Sussex. The route goes through Ashdown Forest, Edenbridge, Uckfield, and Cuckmere Valley before a testing climb into Eastbourne. |

Very fast downhill section past Titsby just before M25 Crossing Ashdown Forest, www.duddleswelltearooms.co.uk and Uckfield for refreshments. Also Littlington Tea Gardens, and East Dean for the Tiger Inn, which is lovely. Carry on to Birling Gap for a dip in the sea.
