With only a small section of the route on the coast, between St Andrews and just before Crail, this is mainly a Fife Central Inner Route. You head out of Glenrothes on the B921 before turning towards Ballingry on the B9097. You then skirt up the side of Loch Leven on the B920 and A911 up to Balbegie. You then turn off onto country roads through Glenlomond and on up to Strathmigo. Turn right onto the A912 and then off left on country roads towards Dunshalt. Take a brief right and left on the B936 through Dunshalt, taking the Ladybank Road. You now follow country roads to the B937, just south of Edentown, where you do a left and right. This brings you to the A92, where you again need to do a left and right onto the B938 to Ladybank. In Ladybank turn right onto the B9129 and go across the Level Crossing. Follow the B9129 through Kingskettle to the A914 junction. Do a quick left and right on the A914 and follow the country roads through Kettlehill, Coaltown of Burnturk and Chance Inn to the A916 junction. Head left on the A916 towards Craigrothie, but tke the B939 on the right towards Ceres. Follow the B939 through Ceres and Pitscottie, then on into St Andrews. From St Andrews follow the A917 to just short of Crail. Turn off onto the B940 and follow this all the way to Peat Inn. Take a left and right on the B941, heading onto country roads through New Gilston and Woodside and on till the A916 junction. Turn left onto the A916 and follow this to Windygates.
