Cycle Steps |
1. Start and finish in Fremington at the Dales Cycle centre. This has a shop, cafe, toilets and a bike wash facility. Head up to the top of Fremington Edge, which is a five kilometre long wall of crags and scree slopes. Then grass track down to Hurst. Turn left away from Hurst on track back towards the other end of Fremington Edge. It is then a very nice grass down the hill for some time following the cairns, which are piles of rocks to keep you on the right track. It then goes down an extremly steep single track with lots of rocks, quite dangerous because you can get up some really fast speed. Once you are down follow the bridleway all the way along the river Swale back to Fremington.
