1. Catch an early ferry from Gourock to Kilcreggan.At Kilcreggan the coast road is easy till Coulport.
A long climb for a mile then a great quiet wide road to a roundabout.
Turn left then follow the side of Loch Long to Arrochar(10m).
From here Take a break, have some lunch and get ready for a long gradual climb to the Rest and be thankful(views are stunning).
From the car park take the Lochgoilhead rd.
This is your treat, a 4 mile, newly laid downhill through the glen, then up through hells glen.
The views at the top of loch fyne are amazing then another brilliant downhill to the main road.
Carry on 7 miles to Statchur for a pint and a rest,then its a long 20miles of uphills,big downhills and great scenery to Colintravie.
Ferry was only £1.40, 2 minutes and your on Bute.* more miles and your in Rothsay,Great day out. |
