| 1. Heading along Hale road to Hale Barns. Last chance to get proper provisions in case you have not stocked up.
From Hale Barns head out toward M56.
Go under M56 heading to 'Macclesfield'
Go through the two airport tunnels (the one where Cristiano Ronaldo crashed his Ferrari!)
After passing Hotel (on left ' go up fairly steep hill'
Take next right - signposted SmokeHouse - great food and drink on offer - but heh you are only 4+ miles in!
Take next right past Smokehouse
Stay on this route for next 3-4 miles. You will eventually arrive at a T junction - Bird in Hand pub is on your left - great food and drink
Turn right at T Junction - you will go through Village of Mobberley with small provisions store.
Once through Mobberley - head for Knutsford Town
Once you come into Knutsford - go down a hill veering right at Traffic Lights
Then go up fairly steep incline - passing Knutsford Train Station
At top of hill turn right at Traffic Lights (A50)
Carry on for 1/3 mile. You can Stop in Knutsford Town if you want - lots of shops/pubs etc
Head over roundabout
After 1 mile pass Cottons Hotel on your left.
Stay on this road - following signs for Lymm and M6/M56
At Major junction veere diagonally right then immediately left up slight hill - heading to Lymm and High Leigh
Next major landmark is Kilton pub/hotel - 1 mile on your right.
Go past Kilton and stay on this road for another 1-1.5miles
Turn right down B5159. Its is no a nice 2mile down hill ride.
At traffic lights (Jolly Thresher Pub opposite) go straight across - it is now a wonderful(Burford Lane) downhill 2-3 miles (watch out for traffic lights after 1.5-2 miles)
At Green Dragon Pub (opposite) Turn right and follow A6144 - back to Partington/Altrincham/Dunham Massey
Turn off Paddock Lane onto Dunham Road (5160)
Follow road for approx 2 miles - passing Rope and Anchor Pub on your left - stay left then turn right down Back lane
Stay on road for 2 miles - go over river - hump back bridge
Stay on road until T junction.
Turn left (School lane) and go past Axe and Cleaver pub (on your right)
Stay straight and go ahead into White House Lane
You will pass Crematorium on your Left hand side.
At T Junction turn right into Sinderland Road
Stay on this till very end (approx 3 miles)- you will pass by Waitrose supermarket and other shops on your left.
At Junction of Sinderland Road and Manchester Road (A56) Turn Right
You will pass a Halfords store on your left - might need new kit!
Go straight ahead eventually turning left into Barrington Road.
Go Straight aheah and up through Altrincham Town Centre
Eventually turn left 50 yds past Unicorn pub into Oxford Road
At end of Oxford Road turn left onto Hale Road. Stay on Hale road for approx 1 mile (passing Cemetery) eventually arriving at Whalley Road (1st right past Altrincham Cemetery, Hale Road)
