1. From Royal Albert you can take either the road route around ExCel or along the wide ped walkway (which I hope will have a cycle path as well one day). There is a great Thai restaurant at the end of the inlet. Then onto light roads or wide ped ways along the line of the river into Isle of dogs. Cycle to the park with the entrance of the Greenwich tunnel (look at notes). The cycle path on the other side start again in the navel buildings shared with peds. This is the cycle 1 path which will take you to the Woolwich ferry. When you get near the Blackwall approach you can go left and take in the peninsula of the Dome. When you get to the Thames Barrier you will have to go onto the main road and around back to the water front. Take the ferry or when open the Woolwich foot tunnel back to the north bank. Follow the road around to the University of East London campus either tale the water front path or the local roads ( I would not take the Royal Albert Way as the driver really speed along here. Then back to starting point. It take me 1 hour to 1h 30 depending on the ferry crossing. Enjoy | |
