| 1. Takes a gentle route out of Ripon heading towards Fountains Abbey where you can take a brief de-tour through the Deer Park if so inclined. The main route starts to pull upwards through some lovely countryside before cutting accross country towards Masham (where a pint of Black Sheep may not go amiss!). Then its out onto the open fells before dropping down the Nidderdale valley past the York Arms (fantastic!!) and on to the Sportsmans Arms at Wath where with a bit of good plannig you will arrive ready for an excellent pub lunch/dinner. |
