| 1. Head to hickleton crossroads and then towards frickley via hooton pagnell. Pass frickley to end of road bottom of hill turn right then left 300 yds later. Continue to end of road and go straight on at junction. Follow road to cathill rb. Follow parkway to meadows pub on roundabout to wombwell. Head to wombell straight on at mini rb in to wombwell. Left at lights after police station, cont to train station andturn right straight after station. Cont on country lanetoward worsborough,turning right on steep downhill hairpin.follow to junction turn left. At junction with A61 turn right and then left following signs for farm centre. Stay on road eventually passing deer farm on right. At this junction turn right follow to stainborough an follow signs to castle. Enjoy the long climb to the tea room!
Return leg ignore the left turn near deer farm/motorway and follow road up hill and down dale emerging at junction and turning right to roundabout. At rb second exit to hoyland common continue down to harley and wentworth. Half mile out of wentworth take left up angel lane and follow to junction. Continue straight over taking left halfway down road to swinton. At rb go straight on then going left at lights. Follow to next rb go left next rb take 3rd exit and follow signs to barnburgh harlington. |
