| 1. Training Route from Cardiff to Redwick (and back). Starting from TGI Fridays on Newport Road, travel along old sea road to Newport, travel along dual carriageway, before travelling along very flat roads behind the old Llanwern Steel Works, to the lunch stop - a well earned pint at the Rose Inn in Redwick.
The return leg takes a slightly uphill run to the A48 between Newport and Chepstow on winding country road, via the village of Magor and under the M4.
Navigating motorway near Celtic Manor is straight-forward and safe by using the cycle-path, and this can be followed a good way around the south-Newport relief-road.
Route home is straight-forward, as we simply follow the A48 back to start point. |
