1. Start of in Larkhall and head north to Hamilton, at Hamilton Townhead st turn left onto Low Waters rd and follow this road until you come to Strathaven where you join with Station rd, follow this road till you come to Boghead village where you turn right and follow this road till you come to Lesmahagow, at Lesmahagow follow Carlisle rd till you come to Balgray rd, follow this road till you come to Coalburn and keep on this road till you come to the junction at Carlisle road again, turn right and follow the road till the roundabout and take a left under the motorway bridge and then take the first exit of the roundabout and follow this road till you come to the A70 where you will take a left signposted Lanark, follow this road till you come to the Hyndford bridge where you will take a left over the bridge and follow on untill you come to Lanark, take the road through Lanark high street and go down the hill towards Kirkfieldbank and follow this road along the Clyde valley till you come to Garrion bridge where you will take the first exit signposted A71 Kilmarnock, follow this road uphill till you come to the traffic lights at Burnhead rd and follow on into Larkhall.
This journey on my odometer was 53.53 miles and took me 3 and a half hours, a really enjoyable journey with plenty open countryside and i highly recommend it, enjoy. |
