Cycle Steps |
1. Long circuit with some off road (at Wey Navigation before Newark Lock). Most picturesque section is from Newark lock to East Clandon and on to Shere. Beware of the steep climb up to Newlands centre - no footpath either and Bridle path overgrown... but view at the top is superb! (and good cycle down again, as long as path is not muddy!). Beware of the Basingstoke Canal section - a lot of the sections are closed and a road route might be a better option. Ride from Deepcut to road to Aldershot was lovely! But then a long way home... Kept the distance for training, but not the prettiest route. |

Landmarks/Sites to see? |
Plenty of pubs along the Wey, lovely ones in Ripley and East Clandon. Good stop and toilets at the picturesque Newlands country centre, Drove Road near Shere. On to town stops in Guildford, Ash, Woking, West Byfleet.
