1. Start in Clay Hill car park (right turn just before entering lane to White Buck Inn). Circular route taking in Burley and Burley Street, and leading to part of the old Castelman Railway line that used to run from Ringwood to Brockenhurst. The ride is mainly flat on mainly little used country roads although through Burley Street there is quite a lot of traffic especially during the Summer. Castle Hill Lane is gravel and has a fairly steep climb to the top, but there is a welcome stop (see below).
There is plenty of wildlife to see on your route as you are in the wonderful New Forest and don;t be surprised to have to go round one or two horses! |

When you get to the end of Castle Hill Lane turn left off your route and after about 500 yds there is the Cider Pantry which serves excellent food and drink. When suitably refreshed you can resume your ride.
