1. First part nice and easy through rural parts of
Essex, I waved at farmers, cows and scarecrows. The farmers shook their fists, the cows just chewed the scarecrows doffed their top hats. We took a ferry across the Crouch and had to party the ferryman a few beans, we travelled the north of the river on our return, there were no farmers, cows or scarecrows here just golf courses, boatyards and smugglers. Battlesbridge antique centre was delightful, here people drunk and scoffed in the pleasant pubs then merrily danced and frolicked giggling banging cymbals on their knees around the maypole. We cycled on through Rayleigh, Hadleigh and arrived back in civilisation in Leigh on Sea and sank to our knees and praised the Lord. |
