Purley Oaks Centre along the Brighton Rd is where Anerley B.C Sunday rides start. Take the left fork (Riddlesdown Rd)from the centre,left past railway Brdg into Brancaster Lane,lft into Lower Barn Rd,rt onto Mitchley Ave,lft Mitchley Hill to join Limpsfield Rd B269 to pass Botley Hill Farm. This is highest point on the North Downs! At mini-rbt 2nd exit and steep down hill(B269)into Limpsfield. At A25 go lft (cycle lane)and Rt by Grass Hopper pub.Now on Moorhouse lane to X over B269 into bridle rd of Treveraux Hill. Steep down hill, follow thru to Swaynesland Farm and immediate lft becomes Dairy Lane. Str over X rd,nxt rt to rejoin B269 and to Four Elms. At X rd go rt towards, and into Edenbridge. Here look out for Bridgers Charity Shop on the Rt, approx opposite Croft Lane. Super tea and cake! Now its home.Go back 500yds and then left into Stangrove Rd, lft into Crouch House Rd/Little Browns Lane/Honey Pot Lane and nxt rt into Grants Lane, lft Staffhurst Wood Lane. At T go lft and at 300yds lft again, Merle Common Rd/Popes Lane. Rt at T then nxt lft into Southlands Ln. Bear lft into Tandridge Ln and nxt rt into New Rd. Rt at T to join A22 towards Godstone. Busy traffic! Lft fork at rbt,nxt rt into Church Rd (lots of historic buildings here) to meet A25. Str over into Flower Lane. Shortly after 2nd bridge (over M25)take bridle rd which becomes Cycle Rt 21. Follow this private rd until it meets Woldingham Rd. Keep lft to join A22 at big,busy! rbt. Rt onto A22 into Whyteleafe. Here choice of busy Godstone Rd back to Purley, or go left over railway level Xing to join back rd, sign posted cycle route. |

Hilly but very scenic route in Surrey hills/Kent wield. Lots of good views, woodlands, old farms and beautiful country houses, country pubs and more. Well worth the effort of those hills! At least you will be able to brag that you cycled over the highest point on the North Downs, at Botley Hill Farm. |
