A very undulating route taking in tough climbs and exciting decents through mostly quiet country roads. The view from the top of Parbold Hill is breathtaking, with the chance of refreshments on offer whilst taking in the views. The start skirts the edge of old Skelmersdale and onto the country roads up to Dalton and onwards to Appley Bridge via a very quiet wooded route. The climb through Appley Bridge is the toughest part of the route which leads onto Parbold Hill. An exciting desent down the hill then leads onto Newburgh and the route back to Skelmersdale. Another decent leads to a more steady route back home to the A570. |
