Cycle Steps
from the railway station, head up the hill, doubling back at the junction.
follow the road until you reach the foot of a steep climb, at which point turn left and follow the road as it drops down around a corner and then steeply climbs up hill. Turn right at the T juntion and follow the road as it keeps on up hill, passing the rose and crown on your left (keep straight on), until eventually, it turns to the right, up a slight ascent. Keep following the road, and the signs for the 2 cycle routes, until you get to a T juntion, at which point you turn left, and quickly left again, over a hump and, finally, you're headed down. At the T junction, carefully turn right, then immediately left, and follow this downhill (route 66) and take the turning to the left. Where the NCN route follows a cinder track, follow the road round to the left, past a car park on your right, and then left up green slacks lane, right onto o'cot lane (there's a git bin at the corner), and then, after a bit of a climb, follow the A62 downhill past the jack o'mitre and another pub on your left. Careful on this bit, as cars can come fast and close.
Just before the bridge (over the motor way), turn right, up hill, and turn right, following the sign to slaithwaite after the chevron sign to the left, turn sharp right to follow a poor road up a steep hill. Take a breather at the bench to enjoy some stunning views behind you. Follow the road along, almost level, past some woods to the left, and eventually get to a sharp left turn. This is steep downhill, twisting at first, then straightening out, all the way down hill. At the juntion, turn left, and then sharp right, and you're back at the station.
