| I needed to travel to southampton from Staines (J13 of M25) and only finding routes that take you on possibly very busy roads I decided to ride using the A30 - which takes you most of the way. The toughest part of the ride is from Winchester onwards, but this is mainly do with the fact that I was so tired and the last 15 miles seem to be the hilliest just when you don't want them. Unlike the South Downs, when you ride up these hills there are rewarding downhills. Takes you right into Southampton City Centre and without a break it took me 5.5 hours. | |
