A lovely route taking in the country lanes of Cheshire with only the odd slight hill. The route starts out towards Daresbury and a hill at Keckwick, levlling out fo the spinning of the legs. Going out towards Antrobus, Pickmere and then crossing the A556 to Plumley and Goostrey. From here head towards Swettenham picking up a blue cycle route. Head for Marton Gawsworth and finally Alderley edge with a bit of steady climbing reaching the Edge on Macclesfield road. There is a cafe on the right here or drop down the hill into Alderley Edge itself where there is a Costa and other cafes to choose from if you fancy a bite to eat. From Alderley there are two options, follow the route attached or go past the station and take a left. Along here you will see a blue sign for the Cheshire cycleway that you can follow all the way back towards Lymm village, another lovely place to stop for a break. Stockton Heath is 6 miles from here. Greta route regularly done where you will always see other cyclists on the way. | |
