This is stage 5 of the 2009 Tour of Britain it is open to the public 10 days before the Pros get to have a go. You can enter at the Unite Bycycling web site.

As well as the 145 km Pro circuit there is a 70 km challange and a 20 km family route.

This looks a real monster and I will post a review once I've completed it on 6 Sep 09.

The ride was awesome. 90 miles of ecstasy and agony in almost equal portions. The first half is good reasonably easy riding then you get to the hills, oh how they hurt. The open moorland between Windy Harbour and Gun Hill is wonderful. Don't be fooled in thinking that once the hardest climb, Gun Hill, is done that you have it in the bag, the up and down nature of the rest of the ride is a real killer.

Watched the professionals do the same ride on 16 Sep 09, well almost, and I’m only 2 ½ hours behind. Need more miles this winter.
