Cycle Steps | |
Follow country roads until you get through Castle Camps. Continue toward Haverhill crossing the A1307, down Camps Road through the traffic calming and turn left at School Lane. At the end of school lane follow the tarmacked footpath past the newt pond and children's play area, continue straight through the housing estate on the same path towards B & Q, go through one pedestrian tunnel underneath the road and exit this footpath just before you see the second tunnel. Follow the road back towards Haverhill town centre from here until you get to the first set of traffic lights before the car wash. Turn left here and approximately 100m on the right is the disused railway line that is partly tarmacked and partly gravel. Follow this all the way through Haverhill back to Sturmer. (Alternatively follow the main road back to Sturmer). Some fairly steep and some longer hills in places. Probably not suited to racing bikes because of some of the route being on gravel. Most of the roads are reasonably quiet. |
