Cycle Steps
This is an easy, mixed route, on roads, pathways and canal towpaths, that is very enjoyable and for the most part scenic in summer and winter. It is nearly the reverse of the Torrence to Milton of Campsie and Kirkintilloch route posted earlier, but does have an extra loop around Cawder Golf Club.
Start in Main Street, B822, Torrance near the A807 roundabout. Head over the roundabout and the river and take the path on the right by the Kelvin river. Follow this part way past the Cawder Golf Course until just before the path goes over the river. Take the path to the left, which takes you through the golf course and onto Cadder Road. Follow this up to the canal and turn left onto the canal towpath. Follow this along the canal to Kirkintilloch. Just after the underpass follow signs for Kelvin Route and make your way up through Canal Street and left onto Eastside. Take a right and head up to the A803 junction. Go onto the B757 and pass Mcdonalds on your right. At the last industial unit take a right, off the B757. At the end of the road, the pathway will lead you to the riverside. Turn left and follow the riverside pathway as it loops round to the left through Milton of Campsie. Continue to follow the path as it crosses and leaves the river, coming out at the B822 junction. Turn left onto the B822 and follow this back through Carlston to Main Street, Torrance.
