Start and end in Wick with fantastic views of the coast. A short detour to Whaligoe Steps and Camster Cairns is well worth the break (both signposted). The whole route is on-road. Although half of route is on the A99, it is relatively quiet. Once off the A99, the roads are mainly single track and in relatively good condition. After Camster Cairns, continue along the road due north until you reach a T-junction. Turn right on the A882 and continue on this road back to Wick. To increase your mileage, turn left on the A882 to Watten. Turn right at Watten, past one end of Watten Loch, then right again on to the B874 back to Wick. | |
