Good route, with improved surface along Basingstoke Canal (Saturn Trail) and NCR 221 as part of Cycle Woking. Wey Navigation route ok but can be a bit muddy after lots of rain. NCR 4 along river thames good. Good route for families as all off road.

Is there a cycle path along the canal/river for the whole route? or is it only part of the way - as i would like to take my children on this trip. Thanks your advice would be appreciated.

Very pleasant route along canals and river Thames. Got lost in Weybridge where towpath ended and had to divert onto roads to rejoin towpath later. Route could be more clearly explained here, and in one or two other places. Lots of pedestrian traffic on towpath which made progress slow, and as someone else has said the route is extremely narrow for some short stretches. That said, cycyling by the river on a lovely sunny day with a gentle breeze was fantastic.

Really enjoyed the ride.Bit busy on a Sunday but do able.Lots to see and good places to stop for coffee lunch tea etc !Great for families.Just use common sense when tow path disappears now and then.
