This is a reasonable flat road route, on a mix of road types, that has a couple of small rises to get your legs pumping. It is also a good route for a novice. You start by heading away from the coast up Barton Hill Drive, which is good for getting you breathing heavily. Because it's at the beginning, this makes the rest of the route seem that much easier. You turn right onto the B2231 and follow this across the roundabout and on to the A250 junction. Turn right onto the A250 and swing left to the A249 junction. Turn right onto the A249 and follow this into Sheerness. Continue until the roundabout where you turn right and take Bridge Road across the water. At the next roundabout turn right, off the A249 and onto the A250. Follow the A250 as it swings right at the railway station and take a left onto Millenium Way. Follow this as it goes past the Sheerness Heritage Centre and swings round to the left to join into Trinity Road (you should now be heading back towards the coast). At the T junction turn right onto Broadway and follow this along the coast as it becomes Marine Parade. When this comes to the outskirts of Minster, turn right onto The Broadway. Follow this until the right turn onto Scrapgate Road, which you follow back to the start point. |
